So this year, I am determined to challenge Blogmas. I wanted to challenge Vlogmas, but after last year's fail, I decided to tackle Blogmas instead. Hopefully that way I can still post my regular You Tube video attempts without the time pressures of getting one video filmed and edited every day. That doesn't mean Blogmas is going to be any easier. But I know I've neglected my blog for far too long and it's time to get the writing juices flowing again.
Blogmas actually began for me yesterday. I decided to hit my first winter illumination. My plan is to try and hit as many as I can over the next couple of months and decide which ones I will return to again next year. Illumination displays are a huge thing in Japan. They take lighting to the next level. I don't think I have ever been disappointed with any of the illuminations I have attended. Each venue usually focuses on a mood or a theme. It also seems as though there is an understanding and anticipation that everyone will be either filming or taking photos so I think a lot of the illumination events gear up for that. Sometimes there are special designated spots to take photos or use special hashtags to post on social media. The whole atmosphere seems very magical to me. Despite the crowds and the often chilly weather, people seem to be in great, festive moods. I like that. I feel equally as festive and happy.
I'm still editing the photos I took yesterday so tomorrow I will post more information about the fabulous illumination display I went to at Tokyo Dome City. I will also post the link tomorrow. For now, here is a sneak preview:
